Grad Student Liz Laudadio Earns Certification from UW-Madison Delta Program

Liz Laudadio (Hamers group) earned her certification from the UW-Madison Delta Program in Research, Teaching, and Learning (shown with her committee after the defense). The certificate recognizes a significant commitment, effort, and achievement toward developing teaching knowledge and skills (full description here). Only about 100 certificates have ever been awarded!

CSN Research Featured in UW Madison Letters & Science Magazine

Letters & Science Magazine, a publication of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s College of Letters & Science, has featured CSN research in its Fall 2019 issue. The article “Small Wonders,” by Aaron R. Conklin, discusses recent work in the lab of Director Bob Hamers studying copper phosphate nanoflakes, their use in agricultural applications, and the ability to control the size, shape, and composition of nanomatierals. CSN Students and Staff Win UW-Madison Chemistry Awards

Several CSN participants received recognition from the UW-Madison Department of Chemistry this Spring. Liz Laudadio (Hamers group, top left) was chosen for the John and Beverly Schrag Analytical Chemistry Outstanding Peer Award, which celebrates a grad student “committed to pursuing excellence in teaching/mentorship, leadership, scientific excellence, and community building.” Kelly Zhang (Hamers group, top middle) and Liz Laudadio each received a Michael W. McCoy Memorial Scholarship (for grad students who “exemplify a love of life, love of people, and love of chemistry”).
